The Indian e-Visa Explained for Kenya Citizens
Kenya nationals applying for an Indian e-Visa can complete the entire process online, with no embassy appointment required for short-term travel. Once approved, the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is emailed directly to you by the Government of India.
Three categories are available. The India e-Tourist Visa comes in 30-day, 1-year, and 5-year options — covering holidays, heritage travel, wellness visits, and family trips across India. The India e-Business Visa is valid for one year with multiple entries, designed for trade visits, meetings, and commercial activity. The India e-Medical Visa allows triple entry over 60 days for Kenya nationals seeking medical treatment or Ayurvedic care at recognized Indian hospitals and wellness centers.
Kenya passport holders on the 1-year or 5-year e-Tourist Visa may stay up to 90 days per visit, with a total annual cap of 180 days across all visits. The Indian e-Visa is non-extendable and non-convertible once issued, and entry is permitted only through designated airports and seaports — not land borders.
